The 2015 Must See ‘Ems Award winner for cutting edge automation, Scissor Hands again won over attendees at Graph Expo 16, one of the largest displays of live running print equipment in the Americas, held Sept. 25-28 in Orlando, Fla. This year, attendees had a hand in live demonstrations of the binding automation software.
Graph Expo attendees became fully qualified guillotine cutter operators. After approximately three minutes of training on button locations and safety features, attendees could test the software right on the show floor.
“We were able to fully demonstrate at the show how installing Scissor Hands on a guillotine cutter can eliminate manual programming and reduce costs,” said Stacy Shipp, vice president of sales, Scissor Hands.
Several industry professionals traveled to the premier event specifically to learn how the award-winning print automation software could enhance their business model.
“Many recognized Scissor Hands from other trade shows or as last year’s Must See ‘Ems Award winner, and specifically sought out our booth,” he said. “They wanted to understand how the solution can be applied to their own operations, ranging from small printers operating two cutters to global companies with 50-plus machines.”
One business process analyst for a major global print provider stated that the innovative papercut software provided a comprehensive solution.
“’I came to the show to solve three things, and [Scissor Hands] solved all of them,’ he told me,” Shipp recalled. “He and others were amazed at the ease that this software could simultaneously reduce cutting errors, lower labor costs and increase throughput.”
For a small investment, print shops can easily upgrade current cutting machines that have a digitally programmable back gauge, per Shipp. The software can integrate with Polar-Mohr, Itotec, Motion Cutter and other leading industry cutters. Installation includes a touchscreen, barcode reader and microcomputer.
Finalizing several sales over the four-day exhibition, Scissor Hands concluded Graph Expo 16 with more interested prospects across the U.S. and throughout Europe.
“I’m extremely excited about the opportunity to help clients use innovative printing technology to its fullest to improve their best practices,” shared Shipp.
